SmartDera Lab. helps student to build their basic knowledge and understanding of following smart IoT devices,
- Arduino UNO (A smart device for building interactive smart IoT applications using sensors and actuators)
- NodeMCU (A built-in WiFi device for smart IoT applications, WiFi facility allow to access the smart sensors/actuators remotely from anywhere)
- Raspberry Pi 3B (A credit card size complete CPU 2GHz Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A53 processor and 1GB RAM)
For large level research projects and experiments, SmartDera Lab. also helps to learn and use a very powerful event-driven Ns-3 simulator. <Register here> for more details and enrollment.
What is Arduino?
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino boards are able to read inputs - light on a sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message - and turn it into an output - activating a motor, turning on an LED, publishing something online. You can tell your board what to do by sending a set of instructions to the microcontroller on the board. set of instructions to the microcontroller on the board.
Arduino is one of IoT plateform for developing smart applications. Watch a very informative video about what is Arduino.
What is Raspberry Pi 3B?
The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B is the third generation Raspberry Pi. This powerful credit-card sized single board computer can be used for many IoT applications. The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B brings you a powerful processor. Raspberry Pi 3 Model B has 2GHz Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A53 processor with 1GB RAM. It has 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.1 (Bluetooth Classic and LE) communication technologies. Raspberry Pi 3B is a complete credit card size PC.
