SmartDera Lab. helps student to build their basic knowledge and understanding of following smart IoT devices,

  1. Arduino UNO (A smart device for building interactive smart IoT applications using sensors and actuators)
  2. NodeMCU (A built-in WiFi device for smart IoT applications, WiFi facility allow to access the smart sensors/actuators remotely from anywhere)
  3. Raspberry Pi 3B (A credit card size complete CPU  2GHz Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A53 processor and 1GB RAM)

For large level research projects and experiments, SmartDera Lab. also helps to learn and use a very powerful event-driven Ns-3 simulator.  <Register here> for more details and enrollment.

What is Arduino?
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Arduino boards are able to read inputs - light on a sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message - and turn it into an output - activating a motor, turning on an LED, publishing something online. You can tell your board what to do by sending a set of instructions to the microcontroller on the board set of instructions to the microcontroller on the board.
Arduino is one of IoT plateform for developing smart applications. Watch a very informative video about what is Arduino.

What is Raspberry Pi 3B?
The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B is the third generation Raspberry Pi. This powerful credit-card sized single board computer can be used for many IoT applications. The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B brings you a powerful processor. Raspberry Pi 3 Model B has 2GHz Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A53 processor with 1GB RAM. It has 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.1 (Bluetooth Classic and LE) communication technologies. Raspberry Pi 3B is a complete credit card size PC. For more information, watch following video.

What is NodeMCU ESP8266?
NodeMCU ESP8266 is an Arduino like harware plateform for IoT application development. The main difference is that it includes a ESP8266 WiFi module built-in on board. A short intrduction video is given below for basic knowledge about the NodeMCU ESP8266.
