Dr. Rashid Ali (M'18) received his BS degree in information technology (IT) from Gomal University, Pakistan, in 2007 and his MS degree under supervision of Dr. Stanislav Belenki in computer science (Advanced Network Design) in 2010 and MS degree in Informatics under the supervision of Dr. Maria Spante in 2012–2013 from the University West, Sweden. Between 2007 and 2009, he worked for Wateen Telecom Pvt. Ltd. Pakistan as WiMAX engineer in Operations Research Department. From July 2013 to June 2014, he worked for COMSATS University, Pakistan, as a lecturer. He has more than 5 years of experience in research, academia, and industry in the field of Information and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science. Rashid recieved his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Yeungnam University, Republic of Korea in February 2019. Later, he served as a postdoc research fellow at the same department in Yeungnam University. Currently, he is serving as a postDoc researcher at the School of Intelligent Mechatronics Engineering, Sejong University, Seoul, Republic of Korea. His research interests include Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, Future WLANs, wireless sensor networks (WSNs), transport/network/MAC layer protocols, Information-Centric Networking (ICN), Embedded systems/Smart systems, Netork-on-a-Chip, Blockchain and Machine/Deep learning for wireless MAC layer.

Being an extremely diligent graduate student and having a strong critical thinking ability, Dr. Rashid has successfully accomplished a few research projects and published his research papers in some well recognized academic journals. Roles and Responsibilities: Responsible to monitor and troubleshoot Wisecomm’s IP based Telecommunication network scattered in 18 big cities of Pakistan and also linked to Milan (Italy) using Solar Wind’s NMS and Ethereal (Wireshark), and to design and configure static and dynamic (OSPF) routing to maintain high availability and Quality of Service of   Voice over IP networks.
